Resized_20180313_091027_192113.3.2018 Press release  The kick-off meeting of CoMET Project

On the 12th of March, the Kick-off meeting of Comet Project successfully took place in Kotka. Comet is funded by the Central Baltic programme and will be coordinated by the South Kymenlaakso Vocational College (EKAMI).

The other partners are Kaakkois-Suomen ammattikorkeakoulu/South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (Xamk), Tallinna Tehnikaülikool/Tallinn University of Technology (EMERA), Ida-Virumaa Kutsehariduskeskus/Ida-Virumaa Vocational Education Centre (IVKHK) and Ab Yrkeshögskolan vid Åbo Akademi/Novia University of Applied Sciences (Aboa Mare).

The aim of the project is to connect maritime simulator centers across the Baltic Sea. Simulator connectivity enables students to train within same virtual learning environment where multi-cultural communication and team working are integral parts of the training. Currently cross border education between maritime education institutes and their simulator centres does not exist.
